After building and operating a large education forward community pottery studio (Studio Terra Terra) in Downtown San Diego, Jazmin chose to step away from scale and return to a more intentional way of working. She wanted to get back to the roots of what her love for ceramics and her studio were founded on; exploration, understanding, and connection.
Today she hosts intimate clay gatherings and private pottery wheel lessons in her Brooklyn home studio. Through her studio gatherings, Jazmin creates environments where people can slow down, and learn. Clay is not just the material used, but the vehicle for bringing people into closer relationship with their surroundings and with one another. Each workshops is an invitation to reconnect with the tactile experience of making something by hand, and connect with each other through clay, ideas, and conversation.
Jazmin’s body of ceramic work explores the quiet relationships between humans, objects, and the spaces we inhabit, reflecting on how everyday materials hold memory, emotion, and presence.
Whether it be through her ceramics and her studio gatherings, Jazmin aims to create spaces where curiosity is welcomed, creativity feels accessible, and connection can unfold naturally.
Jazmin Colette is a Brooklyn, New York based ceramic artist and founder of Studio Terra Terra.
